This is a promotional poster that I made for the game Ascension Mining. It was rendered in Unity with touch ups done in After Effects and Photoshop.
Most of the assets necessary for the poster were already made, but the terrain wasn't, so I whipped up something really quick in World Machine and retopologized it in 3d-Coat.
The elements were arranged in Unity and then I wrote a script to take a high resolution screenshot of the scene.
The next step was to bring it into After Effects to create elements that were less practical to do in Unity, such as the light rays from the terrain, the depth of field, and some color correction.
I still felt the image was missing the industrial grit that the game itself was striving for. So I took it into Filter Forge and created a scratch/dirt filter and added the dark rough edges.
Finally, I added a few touch ups in Photoshop and made some 3d text for the game's title and logo.
